If you are unsure of what your CD/DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player is capable of, or what type of disc is compatible with it, you should use Nero Infotool to find out.

Nero InfoTool provides important information such as the reading and recording speed of your drive, the buffer size and the type of firmware it uses.

It also tells you the read/write functions that are supported on each system: CD (-R, -RW, -TEXT, + G, C2Error), DVD (-R, -RW, +R, +RW, -RAM, ROM, -R DL, + R DL), HD DVD (-R, -RW, -ROM, -RAM, -R DL, -RW DL) and Blu ray (-R, -RE, -R DL, -RE DL) .

Other important information that Nero InfoTool can provide is which writing modes the unit is compatible with, and which features it supports, such as underrun protection and Lightscribe.
